Understanding the history of the Earth’s climate is essential to inform the interpretation of landscapes, the evolution of species and the rise and fall of civilisations.

Developing this understanding has never been more important as the actions of humanity are now also causing global climate change at rates many times faster than natural climate variability.

Research of past climates and their impacts is a School strength built around the multidisciplinary expertise of its world leading paleoclimate researchers and the outstanding research facilities within the School and across UQ that support this research.
