Post Nesting Migration Evaluation and Foraging Areas Identification Based on Stable IsotopesAnalysis of Green Turtle (Chelonia Mydas) Nesting at Tortuguero Rookery
Combining post nesting telemetry data with stable isotope values for C and N of nesting green sea turtles from Tortuguero rookery in Costa Rica, we aim to characterize the isotopic composition of the different foraging areas supporting this population around the Caribbean Sea, looking for isotopically distinct regions and evaluating the proportion of nesting females at Tortuguero that come from each of these areas. This will allow us to identify strategic developing and feeding habitats, and to better understanding the connectivity between breeding and resident foraging areas.
