Structural, sedimentological and magmatic responses to tectonic processes during formation of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB) are recorded along the southern margin of the Siberian craton. The aim of the project is to understand the mechanism of orogenic growth using geological evidence from the southern margin of the Siberian Craton. The project will investigate the role of oroclinal bending, subduction–accretion processes, and arc-continent accretion events. Work will mainly involve  geochronological and structural investigations along the boundary between the CAOB and the margin of the Siberian craton. Outcomes will contribute to understanding fundamental tectonic processes related to the evolution of accretionary orogens.
