The meaning of the informal/formal financial interface in settlement upgrading to planning theory and practice: A case study from Phnom Penh - Cambodia
Duration:
January 2015–January 2018
My research uses a case-study to explain the relationships between formal and informal upgrading practices in one informal settlement in Phnom Penh – Cambodia. By understanding how formal and informal practices interact in questions of finance, land use, housing and infrastructure, and the implications of these interactions in the production of socio-spatial inequalities, my research informs planning knowledge for just and inclusive cities in the global south.
