A standard data is required in integrated coastal management. Geopsatial data and classification essential to coastal management derived from remote sensing approach in Indonesia is mostly driven by producer’s point of view. This research aims to develop a systematic coastal habitat classification scheme based on remote sensing data, to deliver the essential coastal habitat information required by Indonesia’s scientific and management agencies. This research will contribute to the exisisting knowledge by delivering information derived from the linkage between inclusion of (scientific and management) users’ requirement, mapping approach, and ecological attributes to understand coastal habitat. Outcome to be expected is an integrated geospatial data and thematic classification of coastal habitat for monitoring and management in Indonesia.
