Researcher biography

Dr Elin Charles-Edwards is a population geographer and demographer. Her research is focused on understanding patterns, processes and determinants of human migration and mobility and its impacts on local and regional populations.

She is the lead Chief Investigator on an ARC Discovery Project Asian Migration in the 21st Century: An Integrated Account (2020–2023). This project aims to develop an integrated understanding of multiple forms of population movement in Asia incorporating both internal and international migration and temporary and permanent moves.
