Researcher biography

I am a computational scientist in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. My current project is monitoring CO2 sequestration using geophysical inversion. Subsurface behaviour, (e.g. electromagnetic, gravity) is modelled using partial differential equations. Inversion is an optimisation problem and I use quasi Newton iterative methods, finite elements, preconditioned conjugate gradient and algebraic multigrid to obtain size and behaviour of the CO2 plume from electrical potential and gravity measurements.
