Dr Pojani will present key findings from her latest book on urban transport issues and policies in 12 of the worlds’ major emerging economies.  In this seminar, she will review the current urban transport situation in the major cities of Brazil, China, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, South Africa, Turkey and Vietnam and discuss how to achieve urban sustainability goals in these countries.

Dorina Pojani joined UQ’s planning program in 2015. Prior to moving to Australia, she lived, worked and/or studied in Albania, Belgium, Italy, The Netherlands, and the USA. In 2016-17, she was a visiting lecturer at the University of Vienna, Austria. Her research interests encompass urban transport, urban design, and housing. She has published numerous books and articles on urban planning in a wide rang of journals including Environment and Planning A, Urban Policy and Research, Journal of Urban Design, Research in Transport Economics, Transport Policy, and Cities.
